Where do you ship?
I currently ship within the UK only. Orders are sent using tracked and insured delivery where appropriate. Local collection or hand delivery may also be available where suitable.
How long does shipping take?
UK orders are usually dispatched within 3–7 working days where the item is ready to send.
Prints are made to order, so please allow extra time for production and dispatch.
Commission timeframes vary depending on size, complexity, and current workload. I’ll provide an estimated timeframe when booking.
Do you offer returns or refunds?
Commissions are non-refundable, as they are created specifically for you.
Originals and prints may be returned within 14 days of delivery, provided they are returned in their original condition and packaging. Return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility unless the item arrives damaged or incorrect.
How do I commission a custom piece?
Visit the Commissions page and fill in the enquiry form with details about your subject, preferred size, and anything you’d like included.
Once I’ve reviewed your information and reference photos, I’ll confirm whether the photos are suitable and provide a quote. If you’re happy to go ahead, I’ll then confirm your booking.
What is your commission process?
My commission process is kept clear and straightforward:
- Enquire — Fill in the commission form with details about your pet, preferred size, and anything you’d like included.
- Review & Quote — I review your reference photos, confirm whether they’re suitable, and send you a quote.
- Book Your Commission — Once the quote is agreed and payment terms are met, your slot is confirmed.
- Creation & Updates — I create your portrait and send progress updates at key stages.
- Finish & Delivery — Your artwork is carefully prepared for collection or UK dispatch once complete.
How long does a commission take?
Commission timescales vary depending on the size, complexity, and my current workload.
Because of that, I do not promise fixed turnaround times casually. Instead, I’ll give you an estimated timeframe when the commission is booked.
If you need a piece by a certain date, please mention that before booking.
How does payment work for commissions?
Commissions under £300 require full payment upfront.
Commissions of £300 and over require a 50% non-refundable booking fee to secure your slot, with the remaining balance due before collection or dispatch.
A commission is only officially booked once suitable reference photos have been approved, the quote has been agreed, and the required payment has been made.
What medium do you use for commissions?
My standard public commission service is realistic pastel animal portraits created from high-quality reference photos.
Other mediums may be considered by special request, but pastel is my standard commission medium.
Are your prints signed?
Yes — all prints are hand-signed.
Open edition prints are normally unmounted and unframed, and they do not include a certificate of authenticity by default.
Limited edition prints are hand-signed, numbered, mounted, and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
Are your originals framed?
Original artworks are normally sold mounted and unframed unless a specific piece is clearly listed as framed.
Any framed original will always be stated in the product listing.
Do you offer framing?
Framing is available as an optional extra for local clients where suitable.
Most clients arrange framing themselves, but I’m happy to discuss local framing options if needed.
What is included with a commission?
My standard commission service includes:
- one agreed subject, size, and composition
- a plain, soft, or lightly suggested background
- mounted presentation with backing board
- certificate of authenticity and care instructions
- protective packaging for collection or dispatch
- progress updates at key stages
- up to three reasonable, stage-appropriate amendments
What kind of reference photos do you need?
I need clear, high-quality reference photos that show your animal’s features, colouring, and expression accurately.
Where possible, multiple reference photos are helpful, especially if details need to be cross-checked.
If you’re unsure whether your photos are suitable, you’re welcome to send them over before booking and I can advise.
Can I include my pet’s name or memorial text?
Yes - a simple name or short memorial text can be included if it is agreed at the start of the commission.
Anything more involved should be discussed before work begins.
What happens if my artwork arrives damaged?
If an original, print, or commission arrives damaged, please get in touch as soon as possible and provide photo proof.
For commissions, if the damage is repairable, I may ask for the artwork to be returned so I can repair it. If the damage is not repairable, I will redo the artwork at no extra cost.
For originals and prints, the outcome will depend on the situation and may involve a repair, replacement, refund, or courier claim handling.
Can I buy reproduction rights to a commission or original?
When you buy a commission or original, you are buying the physical artwork, not the copyright or reproduction rights.
I retain the copyright to my work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Will you share my commission publicly?
Unless privacy has been agreed in advance, I may share finished commission work on my website, portfolio, or social media.
If you would prefer your commission to remain private, please discuss this with me before the artwork is shared.
