Connection captures a quiet, powerful moment between horse and rider—just before the intensity of the course begins. Inspired by a photo I took while working at a grassroots show jumping competition, this piece was born from a winter afternoon bathed in golden light. The sun was beginning to set, casting long shadows and a rich, warm glow over the horse’s form.

This is a tribute to the in-between moments. The tension just before takeoff. The stillness that comes from deep focus and mutual understanding. As someone who helped set up the course and reset poles between rounds, I got to witness these moments up close—and it’s that connection I wanted to honour.

Drawn in soft pastels on Pastelmat paper, this original is rich in realism and depth, with the play of light and shadow creating a striking, lifelike finish. The dark background helps the highlights sing—bringing the viewer’s attention to the muscle, tack, and quiet strength of the horse.

Returns Policy

I want you to be completely satisfied with your artwork.

30-Day Return Period:
Original artworks and prints can be returned within 30 days of receipt. To be eligible, the artwork must be returned in the same condition you received it, using the original packaging. You must also provide proof of purchase.

Free Returns Label:
If your return request meets the above criteria, I'll provide you with a free returns shipping label.

Damage Upon Arrival:
If your artwork arrives damaged, you must notify me within 48 hours of receipt, including clear photographic evidence of the damage.

Damage caused by mishandling or improper care after delivery does not qualify for repairs, replacements, or returns.

Replacements due to damage are only offered for commissions.
